Welcome to STEAM Wonder Lab
Wonder Lab is Kinderberry Hill’s dynamic discovery space, thoughtfully designed to spark creativity, inspire experimentation, and nurture each child’s natural sense of wonder. Tailored for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-kindergarteners, the program ensures age-appropriate projects that invite curious minds to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math—all through joyful, hands-on play.
Wonder Lab Studies
Our Wonder Lab studies span two to four months, allowing for deep, meaningful exploration. Each theme is thoughtfully woven into daily activities and across all areas of learning.
Guided Discovery
Studies are introduced during group time, then brought to life through hands-on experiences in the afternoon. Children explore using a variety of materials, guided by their interests and natural curiosity.
Family Communication
Families receive regular updates on each study, along with information about community events, family education opportunities, and ways to stay connected at Kinderberry Hill.
Bringing Early Learning to Life
At Kinderberry Hill, curiosity is not just encouraged—it’s celebrated. In our Wonder Lab, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-kindergarteners engage in hands-on, minds-on exploration using authentic tools and real-world materials designed to spark discovery, creativity, and critical thinking.
Children are invited to explore like true scientists, artists, and engineers. They might:
- Listen to their voices through a live microphone, discovering sound and amplification.
- Observe life-sized shadows and experiment with light using an overhead projector.
- Examine antique and modern cameras, capturing their own photos to understand perspective and storytelling.
- Get messy and creative by spinning clay on a pottery wheel, exploring texture, shape, and form.
Every activity is rooted in STEAM and Reggio Emilia principles—inviting children to question, test, tinker, and collaborate.

Art Study
Everything and all things art! Children create and explore sculpture, pottery, and photography. This entire study is a exposure to art history and a practice in creativity, imagination, and self-expression.
Let's Get Jazzy
Explore a variety of instruments, music, and artists from different eras. Children discover how people have listened to music over time—from radios to cassette tapes—and learn to create their own music.
Potions Study
Stirring, mixing, transforming, and discovering! We create colors, grind spices, and make many scientific predictions and observations about the reactions taking place.
Performance and Theatre
Children create their own stories and songs while taking part in every aspect of production—from building the stage and designing costumes to running lights, music, and even welcoming guests.
Simple Machines
The world is full of SIMPLE MACHINES! We explore pulleys, levers, screws, wedges, wheels and more. Children experiment with moving things using these items and finding them in our everyday life.
